Week 5- Paws to Read Summer Programs!

July 7th - 10th

Tiny Tales - Birth-23 months
This week we are playing Peek-a-Boo with our babies!  We read the books Whose Tail is This? by Claire Belmont and Peek-a-Who? by Nina Laden.

Rhyme: Peekaboo - With Scarves
Peekaboo baby, (hide eyes behind scarf)
Look and see,
One, two, three,
Boo! It's me!

To extend at home, play peek-a-boo in other ways!  Try using stuffed animals or hiding behind a pillow.

Wiggles n' Giggles - 9 months-23 months old

We are having Summertime fun in Wiggles n' Giggles!  We read the books What Can you do in the Sun? by Anna Hines and Baby Loves Summer by Karen Katz.

Mr. Sun - Traditional Rhyme

Oh, Mr. Sun, Sun, Mr. Golden Sun

Please shine down on me.

Oh, Mr. Sun, sun, Mr. golden sun,

Hiding behind the tree

To please come out and we can play with you

To extend the summer fun at home, try a Grassy Hide and Find game with your baby.  Place some brightly colored toys in a soft grassy play area.  Have your baby "find" the toys.  Be excited with them!  Some children will play with the first item they find, while others will continue the hunt.

Puppy Dog Tales - Age 2- Kindergarten
This week's animal we are adding to our theme is the Rabbit!  We read the big book Huggly Snuggly Pets by David Kennett.  

Here is our add-on verse for Old MacDonald:
Old MacDonald had a Rabbit, E-I-E-I-O
And on that rabbit, ther were some feet, E-I-E-I-O
With a hop, hop, here
And a hop, hop, there, 
Here a hop, there a hop

For fun at home, act like bunnies!  Talk about what they do and what they like to eat.
