Fall 1 - Week 2

Baby Rhyme Time
Our theme this week is Bedtime.  We read the book Almost Bedtime by Stephen Gass.  To extend our theme at home, to help your baby settle down rub baby's back and hum or sing a favorite lullaby.

Rhyme: The Moon is Round
The moon is round, (draw circle on baby’s cheek)
The moon is round.
It has two eyes,
A nose,
But knows no sound.

Wonderful Ones
We are having tons of fun with our Ones!  This week we read I Love You as Big as the World by David Van Buren and Baby Loves Hugs and Kisses by Michael Lawrence.  

Rhyme: Hugs and Kisses Every Day
The baby at the house goes hug, hug, hug,
Hug, hug, hug, hug, hug, hug.

Terrific Twos
We are having fun with Leaves!  We read the books Leaves In Fall by Wes Rustad and Fall Leaves Fall!  Wes Hall.  To continue the fun at home, see if you can find some leaves with your little ones and make leaf rubbings using crayons and paper over the leaf on a hard surface.

We are continuing our Barnyard Fun with our Feathered Friends at the farm!
This week we read the books Quack and Count by Keith Baker and Cock-a-Doodle Quack 
Quack by Ivor Baadiel and Sophie Jubb.  To continue the fun at home, try taking a walk 
own by our Fox River and try spying some ducks or geese.

This week we are talking about Clothes!  We read the books A Pocket for Corduroy by 
Don Freeman and Mrs. Mopple's Washing Line by Anita Hewitt.  As an extension at
home, ask our child what their favorite thing to wear is and why!  




There’s something in my pocket
Could it be a moose? (hands into antlers)
Could it be a train with a bell and a caboose?  (train arms)
Could it be a snake?  (wiggle)
Or some sticky icky glue?
Right here in my pocket is…
A KISS from me to you! (blow kiss)
