Storytime Programs - Summer 2015, Week Eight

It's hard to believe that this is the final week of summer storytimes.  We hope you've been having as much fun as we have!  There are still numerous special events happening so be sure to check our Events Calendar http://gailbweb.gailborden.info/evanced/lib/eventcalendar.asp, give us a call, or stop by the desk in the Early Learning Center if you would like more information.  Below you will find some of the books, rhymes, and fingerplays we are presenting this week.

Tiny Tales  (For babies 0-23 months and an adult caregiver)

Instead of our usual program we welcomed Kate Taylor of Creative Childbirth Concepts for a wonderful, interactive musical performance.  Miss Kate entertained us with her singing, guitar playing, and some more unusual noise makers.  Parents and caregivers were interested to learn how to make music part of their child's daily routine, whether it be calming a fussy baby, settling down for bedtime, distinguishing sounds, or exposing them to many different kinds of music.

Wonderful Ones (For babies 12-23 months and an adult caregiver)

Books
Rub-s-Dub Sub - Ashman
Hooray for Fish - Cousins

Action Rhyme: Did You Ever See a Fishy?

Did you ever see a fishy, a fishy, a fishy
Did you ever see a fishy swim this way and that?
Swim this way and that way, and that way and this way
Did you ever see a fishy swim this way and that?

This week we listened to stories and sang rhymes about fish.  Show your toddler pictures of other animals and tell him what they are called.
