Books and Badges Storytime, May 20, 11:15-11:45am
Drop in to hear South Elgin Officer Creighton share police friendly stories and talk about being a neighborhood hero. (SEB) 

Summer Reading Kick-Off Party, May 31, 2-5:30pm
Play games, meet sport mascots, make crafts, and sign up for the library's Summer Reading Program to help us celebrate the end of the school year and the beginning of summer!  (ML)

Picnic Familiar en espanol con Alina Celeste/Spanish Family Picnic, June 5, 6-7:30pm
Traiga una comida para comer al aire libre en el césped oeste de la biblioteca. La biblioteca proveerá postre y bebida. ¡A las 6:30 pm, vamos a bailar y cantar con Alina Celeste! En caso de clima inclemente, boletos serán distribuidos en el vestíbulo ese mismo día en orden de llagada a partir de las 6 pm.

Bring a picnic to the library's west lawn. Beverage and dessert will be provided by the library. At 6:30, join us for singing and dancing with Alina Celeste! In case of inclement weather, tickets will be handed out on a first-come, first-served basis starting at 6 p.m. in the lobby.  (ML)


Stories Under the Hickory Tree at Lords Park Zoo, June 13, 11:30am-12:30pm
Bring a blanket or chair to sit on and listen to stories about bison, cows, pigs and other animals! Stay for a craft. In the event of bad weather, storytime will move indoors to the cowshed located at the Lords Park Zoo. No registration.

Storytime with a Basketball Player, June 13, 2-2:45pm
Have you ever wondered what it’s like to be a basketball player? Come hear from Head Coach of Boys JV basketball at Elgin Academy, Rick Williams! We will read stories, make a craft, and you can ask questions about dribbling, defense, and dunking!  Best for kids 3-8 years.

The Very Hungry Caterpillar Party, June 26, 1:30-3pm
Celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Very Hungry Caterpillar with art, activities and games! All ages with caregiver. (ML)

Storytime with a Softball Player, June 27, 2-2:45pm
Have you ever wondered what it’s like to be a softball player? Come hear from Amber Godinsky, a softball player (and she also plays rugby)! We will read stories, make a craft, and you can ask questions about pitching, catching, and grand slams!  Best for kids 3-8 years.  Registration required.  (ML)
